Pure Talents Contest Offers Design Industry Support and Cash Prizes

The Pure Talents Contest, organised by imm Cologne, one of the largest tradeshows for interior design worldwide, is an award for young product designers. In the past 18 years, a total of 502 products by 555 international designers have been presented in the annual exhibition during imm Cologne.

Each year, up to 20 current pieces of work by design students and young designers from all over the world will be nominated. From this selection, the three judged to be the most talented international up-and-coming designers in 2022 will be selected.

The Imm cologne categories are Furniture; Home Accessories; Lighting; Floor Coverings, Wallpapers and Textiles; and Smart Home. The LivingKitchen Selection categories are Kitchen Concepts; Concepts for Electrical Appliances; and Kitchen Accessories and Kitchen Utensils.
Upon confirmation, all of the 20 entrants will receive the label ‘nominee’. Prize money is awarded to the entrants who receive the following places:

• First prize: €1,500
• Second prize: €1,000
• Third prize: €500
• Audience Prize: €500

The competition is open to design students and designers from around the world that graduated within the last three years. Design teams are also invited to participate; however, each team may only have a maximum of three members.

The deadline for applications to the 2022 Pure Talents Contest is 15 September 2021.
