Event information

The Workshop: Jan is an Award winning comedy writer, broadcaster and journalist and a regular workshop presenter for INK, a Suffolk based theatre company and registered charity, that sources, develops, and produces the best new short plays for stage, and radio, from writers with an East Anglian connection. Her play Conversations From a Long Marriage was first aired as a New Year's Day special in 2018 with Joanna Lumley and Roger Allam. There was then a Christmas Eve episode last year and it has now been commissioned for a full Radio 4 series, for transmission later this year. You will see from her biography below, that this is just one of her many successful radio and TV writing successes. For the Headgate workshop, Jan will tackle the eternal triangle of character, dialogue and plot and explain how to avoid stereotypes. There will be a chance to flex your comedy muscles with scenarios, exercises and collaborations. There will be some listening, lots of talking and hopefully lots of fun!.
