The Level Best Art Café
..was Established in 2008 as a Not for Profit Social enterprise that provides people with learning difficulties an opportunity to gain purposeful work experience and training within a town centre environment. As well as provides a cafe service to the general public.
The training takes place within our four business projects, Dacon Bake, Seasonal, Horticulture and Artco.
Our Dacon Bake trainees work in our café to produce hot lunches, cakes and hot drinks for our customers who are welcome Monday to Friday between 9:30 and 4pm (lunches served from 12:30 to 2:30) and sandwiches for local businesses. They are involved in all aspects of the running of the café.
Our Artco project involves learning and utilizing various art techniques, being involved in local exhibitions and projects, designing and producing greetings cards, and also incorporates the running of our art gallery.
Level Best is not just about work skills training but life skills, inclusion and community participation.
